DWO WhoCast episode 140

Our thoughts turn to the future this week on the DWO WhoCast.  Regeneration is on our mind presently, what with David Tennant about to pass the mantle of Whodom across to the young whippersnapper Matt Smith.

Marty and Trev talk about regeneration - what we want to see when the time comes over the Xmas break this year to say goodbye to the 10th Doctor.

We also review one of the new players in the online streaming video market - Blinkbox.  They offer a whole ton of Doctor Who which you can view free online, as well as a lot of other TV shows and movies.  Check 'em out!

As well as a healthy dose of the latest news, it's what you would expect from the DWO WhoCast!

Certainly a lot to talk about this week on the DWO WhoCast.

New logos, trailers, sad passings and new releases.  We cover the gamut of events in the Who universe.

We of course couldn't do an episode without talking about the sad death of Doctor Who producer, Barry Letts.  In tribute to this titan of Doctor Who we include in this episode an interview that Paul did with Barry way back in episode 43 of the DWO WhoCast.  We hope you enjoy it, our way of paying tribute to Mr Barry Letts.

We also review the last Colin Baker story to get the DVD treatment - The Twin Dilemma.

Don't forget you still have time to get your entry in for our Doctor Who script competition - send in your five minute scripts for a chance for a great prize, and the opportunity to hear your story brought to life on the WhoCast!

Send in your feedback to feedback@thewhocast.com.

As we all know, there isn't just the official Doctor Who show to watch if we want our fix of something with that flavour.

The fan community, semi-fan productions and even professional fan groups have always been busy producing for us lucky fans spin-offs, interviews, documentaries and so forth to keep us happy when Doctor Who isn't on our screens.

In this episode of the DWO WhoCast we want to highlight some of the forgotten Doctor Who videos - spin-offs from the dark time after the end of the classic series before the new light shone in 2005 with RTD and Eccleston.

We review these neglected gems:
Videos that entertained us, informed us and kept us content during that long tea break between series.

There are plenty more out there we haven't covered, and if you have your favourite but forgotten videos let us know about them at feedback@thewhocast.com.

Review mode for the DWO WhoCast this week.

James joins us to review one of the most interesting releases from the Big Finish people for quite some time - an audio adaptation of the stage play The Ultimate Adventure.

Tim Drury, dedicated listener and contributor to the show, sent us a first hand report of his visit to the Ianto Jones Shrine.  A video of the visit can be found here.

James and Marty conspired behind my back, headed off the pub and reviewed Season 3 of the Paul McGann adventures from Big Finish, the cheeky sods!

We also hear from the lads about their visit to the Whooverville convention a few weeks back.

Keep a download spot free for later in the week as the DWO WhoCast returns with yet another episode!  Two in one week!
