DWO WhoCast episode 127

No one would have believed that in the first years of the 21st century that Doctor Who would ever come back from the timeless worlds of cancellation. No one could have dreamed it was being scrutinized as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of Christopher Eccleston leading the role. And yet across the gulf of the BBC minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this show with optimistic eyes and slowly and surely they drew their plans to bring it back.

And who would have thought that one season of Doctor Who, one Doctor, would achieve a three-part retrospective! But here we are again. Trev and Marty (and James!) finish up their look upon this Ninth Doctor fellow, grab some feedback and give their thoughts on the second half of season one.

Our focus is the Ninth Doctor, Christopher Ecclestone, in the first of our two podcast look at the man who was instrumental in bringing Doctor Who back to us in 2005.

We look at how it all came about, just how responsible is he for the show's current success, and did he leave too early?

Join Trevor and Marty as we delve into a year of Doctor Who where leather jackets were all the rage and it was again for the Doctor to snog his companions.

Trevor and Marty have their reviewing hats on this week.  Trevor's is a little jaunty number with a plucky feather out the side, Marty has opted for a deep sea divers helmet complete with attached plankton.

The boys undertake the task of reviewing the latest DVD release, Delta and the Bannermen.  See if you can follow the subtle and nuanced review and ascertain what they think of this release.

Big Finish also gets a look in, with James having recommended the absolutely superb Companion Chronicle, The Mahogany Murders.  The release passes by Trevor and Marty's ears and they give their thoughts on this release.

Along with all the latest news and opinions, it's another DWO WhoCast!
